The Whyalla Surf Life Saving Club patrols your beach every weekend & public holiday from Oct to Easter Monday between 9am – 1pm.
  • We provide First Aid
  • We help find lost children
  • We provide assistance to Police when boats, kayakers, wind surfers, planes, go missing.

We provide water cover for:

  • The Triathlon
  • The Swimming Club swim through in the Marina
  • Schools for their end of year fun days at the beach.
  • We teach water safety, first aid, resuscitation.

Lets meet a couple of our patrolling/committee members:

Melissa joined the Club in 1992 at the age of 10 as her older brother Michael, sister Leanne and her father Phil were all members, Mel competed in Adelaide at some of the junior and Senior Carnivals in flags and boards then later competed in first aid competition with Carolyn at the Australian Nationals. Mel went on to achieve her Surf Rescue Certificate, followed by her Bronze Medallion and IRB Crew. Mel has also held many positions in the club including Junior Co-ordinator, President, Secretary, Club Captain (current position).

Carolyn moved to Whyalla from Adelaide with work and joined us in 1997 transfering from Glenelg. Carolyn had her Bronze Medallion went on to do IRB Crew, IRB Driver, Instructor, Carolyn has also held a number of committee positions including Chief Instructor (current position), Junior Co-ordinator and President, Carolyn has competed in first aid competitions.
